Jamie Oliver, a.k.a. The Naked Chef, has put on a lot of weight since we last saw him several years ago on Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution on ABC. It’s a bit ironic since the purpose of the Food Revolution was for him to come to the United States and help us make healthier food choices and combat our problem of increasing rates of obesity.

Obviously something is not working out quite right in his diet with regards to being slim and fit. Unfortunately, he assigns no blame on his diet. Instead he has hired a personal trainer to help him work out: apparently he thinks he got fat from not lifting weights?

We demonstrate that his recipes are extremely high in fat and protein, with an abundance of meat, cheese, olive oil, and other high fat ingredients. The paella dish we entered into cronometer.com had nearly 60% of its calories from fat! It doesn’t matter if he uses the highest quality “foodie” ingredients: a diet that high in fat is going to make you fat over the long term. The fat you eat is the fat you wear.
