Not all vegan diets are the same! There’s 80/10/10 ers, starch solution vegans, high fat gourmet raw vegans, soy based “meat” vegans, and junk food vegans just to name a few. And depending on which one you follow, your health will thrive or fail you.

Just like there’s no such thing as a meat eater’s diet, there’s no such thing as a vegan diet. Vegan opponents like to make all sorts of claims about the “vegan diet” lacking various vitamins and minerals. But just because a person’s diet lacks meat, it doesn’t mean that they are or are not eating a nutritionally rich diet.

Ryan responds here to a vegan critic insisting that he tells his audience that the vegan diet is deficient in critical minerals like zinc and iron. However, the fact that those minerals are easily obtained from plant foods falls on deaf ears. For example, just one cup of kidney beans has nearly 70% and 35% of the R.D.A for iron and zinc respectively.
