Do you try to get a lot of protein throughout your day? Perhaps you make a protein shake every morning or you eat protein bars when you’re hungry? Or, do you count the grams of protein you intake each day and have protein shakes after working out? Or, more simply, do you strive to include lots of protein rich foods in all of your meals?

But why? Where did you learn that you need to be on this constant protein intake binge? We hear the opinions of several long term vegan athletes including Mac Danzig, Tim VanOrden, and Rich Roll as they weigh in on how much (or little) protein is really needed for a successful top level athlete, whose protein requirements are higher than that of the average person.

As you see, the amount of protein that we really need is far less than what the average person has been led to believe. Instead, a plant based diet high in carbohydrates, low in fat & protein is healthier, provides more energy, and is naturally slimming. So stop eating so much damn protein!
